Obsidium is a separè designed to define and screen spaces with sartorial elegance. Ideal for both residential and contract settings - such as contemporary living rooms, hotel suites, or professional studios - it serves as a functional backdrop that masterfully balances privacy and light.
The name Obsidium, a Latin neuter noun, signifies a "block". It evokes a sense of protection and security, acting as a silent guardian of spatial harmony and intimate boundaries. Born from the creative vision of Studio INTHEGARDEN, the project has evolved over time into a versatile architectural tool. Originally conceived as a bespoke solution, it has grown in proportions to offer greater coverage and stability while maintaining its signature lightness.
Today, it represents a perfect union of Italian high craftsmanship and sustainable innovation, allowing spaces to flow naturally. Each piece is a tailor-made narrative where the SPLOT® weave dresses the room with a unique, charismatic presence.
The handcrafted SPLOT® weave of the Obsidium divider features a variety of patterns, ranging from the rhythmic regularities of the Optical collection to more elaborate, vibrant color-block finishes.
The metallic canvas has been evolved to screen larger surfaces, ensuring both stability and a mesmerizing interplay with shadows. This architectural approach allows the piece to function as a dynamic screen for private homes or a professional backdrop for digital calls.
Customization is at the heart of this project; beyond chromatic palettes, the structure itself can be adapted. A notable bespoke creation for a private bathroom included an integrated iron crossbar to hold towels, merging utility with art. Available in numerous variants, Obsidium represents a versatile design solution that harmonizes with diverse interior styles, from minimalist offices to sophisticated retail spaces.
